IntroductionHi I'm Luke Manning, I am finishing my second semester studying a Bachelor of Composition and Music Technology and WAAPA. I invite you to join me on a reflection of growth and self discovery over my experience through this semester.
From academic pursuits to personal development, this platform serves as a digital archive of my learnings, reflections, and the profound impact they have had on my life. This semester has not only been a great learning experience through university life, but its has also been a busy period away from academic work. Ive had many fantastic opportunities to perform this semester, at places such as The Ellington, Telethon and for TedX. On top of these I have been continuing to working on my album, which will hopefully be released at the end of the year, as well as a 2 song EP on the side. This semester I have been really into independently produced, recorded, and managed musical projects. These amazing artists are not only extremely knowledgable, but they are also hugely talented. My plan for the summer holidays is to try and get some work experience in a recording studio, as that is what I am passionate about at this point in time. Also this semester, I have been teaching myself the drum kit, to hopefully be able to play more music that I am more invested in, rather than simple drum lines for my own music. This has been a great way to build up a skill, that will come in handy for my own musical projects. This semester has not only taught me perseverance, but also organisational skills necessary for thriving in such a busy lifestyle. On this page, you will be met with some of my personal, as well as academic projects from this year. |
Personal Projects
Here are some personal projects I have been working on whilst studying this semester. So far I have released 5 songs on to streaming platforms, with an album on its way. I have also recently been interested in short-form content, such as instagram reels/tik toks which are displayed down below.

A collection of some incomplete demo's that I have been working on using my old 1976 JVC Tape recorder. These 'Microsongs' have really helped develop my film making skills as well as creating an online presence through TikTok and Instagram. I have enjoyed making these songs so much and received a lot of positive feedback, so perhaps keep and eye of for an album coming soon...
